- Scottie Scheffler (+475) is favored to win the green jacket for the second time in his career
- Jon Rahm (+1500) and Brooks Koepka (+1800) are among the LIV Tour golfers eligible to compete
- The Masters Tournament tees off from Augusta National in Augusta, Georgia on Thursday, April 11, 2024
Scottie Scheffler almost became the first player in seven years to win three consecutive PGA tournaments before missing a 5-foot birdie putt on the final hole of the Houston Open. Still, the red-hot Scheffler remains a heavy favorite to pick up another Masters championship at Augusta National this April.

Scheffler’s dominating run
Scottie Scheffler (+475) has seven top-10 finishes in eight PGA Tour starts this season, with 37 top-5s in his last 119 tournaments. Short putting, long his Achilles’ heel, cost him his third-straight Tour victory on Sunday. However, the 27-year-old still has eight tour titles since February 2022. He recently became the first man to win back-to-back Players Championships.
Ranked No. 1 in the world for the past 81 weeks, Scheffler had shot under par in 28 consecutive rounds before shooting a 70 in round two of the Houston Open. While he has the shortest betting odds to win the Masters since Tiger Woods in 2013, the betting favorite hasn’t won at Augusta National in 13 years.

Will Tiger Woods play?
Tiger Woods (+12500) looks set to make his return to Augusta National Golf Club after plantar fasciitis caused him to retire from last year’s event. If the five-time Masters champion could make his 24th consecutive cut at the tournament, he would break a tie with Gary Player and Fred Couples (23).
The 48-year-old picked up his last green jacket in 2019. A victory is never out of the question for the 15-time major championship winner, but will be difficult after a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Other top contenders
Rory McIlroy (+1200) needs a green jacket to complete the career Grand Slam. The world No. 2 missed the cut at Augusta year ago after placing runner-up in 2022.
Jon Rahm (+1500), the reigning Masters champion, will finally get a chance to defend a title. Due to being a member of LIV Golf, the Spaniard was not allowed to play in The Sentry, American Express or Genesis in 2024 after winning the tournaments last year.
Brooks Koepka (+1800) tied for second at the Masters in 2023 for the second time in his career. The current PGA champion and five-time major winner recently opted out of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Best longshot
Wyndham Clark (+3300) has reason to be confident heading into the Masters. The 2023 U.S. Open champion won at Pebble Beach in January and placed second to Scheffler at the Players Championship in March. He has three top-10 finishes this season, making the cut in seven of eight events.
