Betting to win the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series
There has been a seismic change at the top of the NASCAR Cup Series points table.
Kyle Larson is no longer in the top spot. His DNF at Michigan in last Monday’s weather-delayed race has seen him bumped off the top and down into fourth place.
The new leader is Tyler Reddick. The No.45 Toyota driver has 814 points. In second place is Chase Elliott on 804, with Denny Hamlin third on 786 points and Kyle Larson fourth on 782.
After being in the top two for the majority of the season, Larson is now in danger of missing out on the regular-season title and the 15-point bonus to take into the playoffs.
From a betting perspective, it hasn’t made too much difference. Kyle Larson and Denny Hamlin are still the joint favorites at +400, with Christopher Bell just behind on +425.
Where there has been a difference is in the odds for Tyler Reddick to win the championship. Ahead of his win at the FireKeepers last weekend, he was +1200. Since taking the checkered flag to win his second race of the season Reddick has been made fourth-favorite at odds of +550.
Elsewhere, William Byron is +700, Ryan Blaney is +800, Chase Elliott is +1000, Martin Truex Jr. is +1400, and Joey Logano is +1600.
2024 Coke Zero Sugar 400 Winner Betting Betting Picks and Predictions
Hedging our bets looks to be the way to go for our Coke Zero Sugar betting picks.
Looking at previous winners on this circuit, Denny Hamlin has taken the checkered flag three times. It’s worth noting that his wins have come from 37 starts.
Other multiple winners are Austin Dillon, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., and William Byron who all have won here twice. Of those four drivers, only Hamlin and Byron are among the betting favorites.
Elsewhere, Kyle Larson is the only driver with four wins on the Cup Series roster this season. Denny Hamlin, William Byron, and Christopher Bell all have three. Is the winner likely to come from one of this season’s in-form drivers or a previous race winner?
Combining both, the above criteria would lead us to Denny Hamlin and William Byron. Both are multiple winners this season, and both have won more than once on this circuit.
For a top-three finish, Hamlin is +325 and Byron is +500. For a top-five finish, Hamlin is +175, and Byron is +270.
So for our opening picks, we are going for Denny Hamlin to finish in the top three and William Byron to finish in the top five.
Race winner pick
For the race winner, we’re looking at Austin Dillon.
He hasn’t made the top ten in his last five starts, but he did win here in 2022, and he is in good form having won the Federated Auto Parts 400 at Richmond on August 11th.
Austin Dillon is +3500 to win the race. He is +1200 for the top three and +500 for the top five. Any bet is worth taking. We are going for Austin Dillon to win at +3500 for our betting pick.
