- Houston (8-5) is a 3-point home favorite over the Miami Dolphins (6-7) in Week 15
- Nico Collins leads the NFL in receiving yards per game (104) and Joe Mixon is third in rushing yards per game (88.7)
- Sunday’s matchup kicks off from NRG Stadium in Houston, TX at 1:00 pm ET
Miami kept its slim playoff hopes alive with 32-26 overtime victory over the Jets on Sunday. With four wins in their last five contests, the Dolphins have an outside shot at the postseason if they can run the table. Next up is a Texans team coming off a Week 14 bye. Houston is in full control of the AFC South, but is just 3-4 in their past seven games.

Miami scores comeback win
Trailing by 8 points heading into the fourth quarter, Tua Tagovailoa came alive down the stretch to lead the Dolphins to a 32-26 win over the Jets. Tagovailoa passed for 331 yards and two touchdowns, connecting with Tyreek Hill on 10 receptions for 115 yards and a score. Jaylen Waddle added 99 yards on nine grabs, and Jonnu Smith had 44 receiving yards and a score.
Tagovailoa currently has the best completion percentage in NFL history (74.5%), narrowly topping Drew Brees’ 2018 campaign (74.4%). He’ll have to be sharp against Houston’s 7th-ranked pass defense, but at least he won’t have to worry about Azeez Al-Shaair. The Texans’ linebacker will miss his first of three games after being suspended for a headshot on Trevor Lawrence in Week 13.

Texans return from bye week
Houston defeated the divisional-rival Jaguars 23-20 in Week 13 but their offense hasn’t looked right all year. Coming out of the bye, C.J. Stroud will look to recapture his rookie form with Nico Collins back and healthy. The 6-foot-4-inch receiver made eight receptions for 119 yards in the win over Jacksonville. Joe Mixon was also outstanding, running for 100 yards and a TD in his sixth-consecutive road game, a new NFL record.
With a two-game lead (and the tiebreaker advantage) over the Colts in the AFC South, DeMeco Ryans’ team doesn’t have a whole lot to play for. But, the Texans need to start playing winning football with the playoffs only a month away.
Houston vs Miami
Houston is a 3-point home favorite at NRG Stadium and the over/under is set at 47 points. The Dolphins have averaged 27.7 PPG in seven games since Tagovailoa’s return. That would rank them #7 in the NFL. Miami’s defense ranks #7 against the run (105.6 YPG allowed). But they’ll have their hands full with Joe Mixon, who’s averaging the third-most rushing yards per game (88.7), trailing only Saquon Barkley (124.8) and Derrick Henry (108.2).
Nico Collins leads the league with 104 receiving yards per contest. He could be a problem for Jalen Ramsey, who allowed five catches for 131 yards as the nearest defender in coverage versus the Jets on Sunday.

Best Bet
While the Texans have built up some breathing room in the AFC South, a loss to Miami would be concerning with games on tap against the Chiefs and Ravens,. Coming out of the bye, we like Houston to cover at home (-3) with the OVER 47.
