New Jersey Devils
The New Jersey Devils have found life difficult at the Prudential Center in recent weeks. Their 2-1 overtime defeat to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday was their second successive defeat on home ice, and their fourth in their last five.
As a result, the Devils are now the third favorite to win the Metropolitan Division at +270.
The Devils are 6-3-1 over their last ten matches. They have averaged 3.1 goals, 5.1 assists, and 3.9 penalties per game. They have also conceded an average of 2.7 goals per game.
Of those ten matches, seven were at home. The Devils record over those seven matches is 3-3-1. They also won all three of their road trips over that period. The wins were over the Capitals (3-2), the Red Wings (5-4), and the Rangers (5-1).
New Jersey can obviously mix it with the best teams in the NHL. But they desperately need to sort their form out on home ice.
The Devils are the +600 joint-fourth favorites to win the Eastern Conference and +1200 to win the 2025 Stanley Cup.
Los Angeles Kings
The Los Angeles Kings are one of the most in-form teams in the NHL over recent days and weeks.
Their most recent match was a 3-1 road-trip win over the Islanders on Tuesday night. The victory was their sixth in succession, following wins over the Wild (4-1), the Stars (3-2), the Senators (5-2), the Ducks (2-1), and the Jets (4-1).
Over the six-match winning streak, the Kings have scored 21 goals and conceded just eight.
The last time the Kings tasted defeat was on November 25th, when they lost 7-2 to the Sharks at the SAP Center in San Jose.
In their last ten matches, the Kings are 8-2-0, with an average of 2.9 goals, 4.9 assists, and 2.9 penalties per match. Across the ten-match period, they have conceded a miserly 1.8 goals per game, and seven of those 18 goals were in one match.
Despite such a strong record, the Kings are only the joint-third betting favorites to win the Pacific Division. The Golden Knights lead the betting at +170, Edmonton is second at +175, with the Canucks and the Kings at +425.
LA is +1000 to win the Western Conference and +2000 to win the 2025 Stanley Cup.
Devils vs. Kings Betting Picks and Predictions
The Kings defeated the Minnesota Wild 4-1 on Saturday, bringing a five-match winning streak for Minnesota to an end. Okay, the win was in LA, but it demonstrated the sort of good form the Kings are currently producing.
Only two of the six matches the Kings have won have been on the road. The wins came against the Ducks (2-1) and the Islanders (3-1) – neither of whom, is flying high.
But then the Devils have been in awful form at the Prudential Center. So we feel that almost takes away their home ice advantage.
It would be a huge risk to wager on New Jersey to win at home in their current form at odds on, especially, when the alternative bet is to side with a team on a six-match winning streak at odds of +125.
