The Italian top-flight soccer league Serie A completes its round-robin style format in late May, meaning we are just a few months away from crowning this year’s Scudetto winner. Napoli and Inter look like they are on a collision course to decide the title. But Atalanta is nipping at their heels, just six points behind the current leaders. Read on for an expert Serie A betting breakdown and explore Serie A title odds, stats and tips and top goalscorer predictions.

Serie A Betting Odds: Who is the Favorite?
Napoli and Inter are the current favorites, with none of the top online sportsbooks picking one over the other. BetOnline offers the best odds on the two at (+105) each. This means that if you believe Atalanta are out of the picture, you could bet on both sides for guaranteed profit, albeit small. This is a great example of line shopping in sports betting.

Two-Horse Race for Scudetto?
Napoli have shocked many pundits with an excellent season so far. Few expected the club to go on such a good run (except for me of course, who wrote they were very undervalued and worth a stab at their +1200 preseason odds). Antonio Conte has helmed the ship beautifully and the presence of Romelu Lukaku certainly boosted their offensive efforts. They are now in the driver’s seat to win their second title in three years.
Inter are breathing down their necks, however. Just two points behind the leaders and with a big game in Naples between the two scheduled in just a few weeks, they have a strong chance to flip the script. But they will also be more busy with games in the Champions League down the road. I think this is a true toss-up, so I have no leans to bet on Serie A in the title market.
Wide-Open Relegation Situation in Serie A
The relegation battle is going to be extremely tight in Serie A this season, as 3 clubs will be forced to drop down to Serie B. Monza and Venezia seem doomed for demotion with 14 and 16 points, respectively. But Empoli, Parma, Verona, and Lecce could all conceivably see themselves out of the top flight in Italy. In fact, even Cagliari supporters are concerned about their chances of remaining in Serie A.
I think this will be a close finish between Parma and Empoli. Empoli have a much more favorable schedule than their counterparts, however. I think at the current prices, there is potential value on Parma.
I have Parma Calcio projected to finish with 32 points and Empoli with 33, but there is an 8-point gap in winning percentage of the remaining opponents. The best course of action here is to hope for Empoli to lose against Atalanta to further reduce Parma’s price, and then “buy low” on Parma to get relegated. Out of all the Serie A betting futures markets, I believe this is the best spot left on the board.
Serie A Betting: Who Will Finish in the Top 4?
The top 4 places in Serie A are very significant. Not only do they indicate a strong season and potential to win the Scudetto, but the coveted four positions earn qualification for the Champions League. The 5th-placed club will gain an invitation to the Europa League, and the 6th to the Conference League. But all soccer fans know the Champions League title is the pinnacle of association soccer.
At the moment, Napoli, Inter and Atalanta look close to sure things to keep their places in the top four. But Juventus and Lazio each sit at 46 points, with Fiorentina the next closest at 42. That means, similar to the title race between Napoli and Inter, it is likely to be these two clubs competing to earn that final Champions League placement. Juve currently holds the head-to-head advantage with a home win against Lazio back in October, but the two are scheduled to play each other in May.
That fixture could prove critical to determining the final top 4 in Serie A this season. My projections have Juventus finishing with 70 points and Lazio with 69 points. However, strength of schedule for the remaining fixtures greatly favors the Old Lady.
Bovada lists Juventus to finish in the top 4 at (-200), with Lazio at (+200). While I would like to bet on Lazio given my expected points table, I just can’t get to the price given how conducive the rest of the season is for Juve. Therefore, yet again, I unfortunately cannot recommend any bets in this market. But if you have a hunch one of these two, will edge it out, go ahead and place your wagers using the links below.
