- Who: Fabio Wardley vs Frazer Clarke 2
- What: British Heavyweight Championship
- Where: Kingdom Arena, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
- When: Saturday, October 12th, 2024
- Ring Walks: 2 pm ET
Fabio Wardley is the current British heavyweight champion. He is defending his belt against Frazer Clarke in a rematch after their last fight in March finished in a draw.
The fight was brutal. Wardley dropped Clarke in the 5th Round. Luckily for Clarke, he had already banked some early rounds.
Clarke stormed back late on in the contest, and by the end of the battle, Wardley was barely recognizable due to his injuries.
A huge cut at the top of his nose, along with a right eye barely able to open, meant Wardley more resembled a bare-knuckle fighter than a boxer facing an opponent using heavy gloves.

Indeed, such was the brutality of the fight, neither man was deemed suitable to complete their post-match interviews.
The fight clearly caught the attention of the Saudi paymasters and could open the door for one or both men to go on to bigger and better things.
The rematch may be on the undercard of Beterbiev vs. Bivol. But if it lives up to its billing, it could possibly end up as the fight of the night.

Fabio Wardley Career Breakdown
Fabio Wardley has a professional fight record of 17-0-1.
His career pathway to the top has been different from most of the fighters currently competing on the heavyweight circuit.
The 29-year-old spent most of his early days fighting on the white-collar circuit in unlicensed fights.
Sparring sessions with Dillian White proved to be the game changer for Wardley.
So impressed was White, that the former world title challenger now manages and backs Wardley. And so far White’s gamble seems to be paying off.
In his 15th fight, Wardley won the British heavyweight title. He has since added the Commonwealth, WBA Continental, and WBO European heavyweight titles to his collection.
Wardley is a big hitter. Fighting from an orthodox stance, he has won 16 of his 17 fights by KO.
Frazer Clarke Career Breakdown
Frazer Clarke is far more inexperienced than Wardley.
The 33-year-old challenger has a professional record of 8-0-1, after only having his first fight as a professional in December 2021.
Before turning pro, Clarke won a bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Big Fraze also won titles at European level earlier in his amateur career.
Before the draw with Wardley, Clarke’s last contest was a 6th-round TKO win over Dave Allen in September 2023.
Allen may well be regarded as a journeyman fighter. But he is not an easy man to stop.
Clarke fights out of an orthodox stance. Six of his eight wins have come via KO, with two going to the scorecards.
Wardley vs. Clarke betting picks
The first fight between Wardley and Clarke has to be a candidate to be the fight of the year.
If we get half as much action in the rematch, it will be enough to keep the worldwide audience and Saudi crowd entertained as they await the main event.
Calling a winner here is extremely difficult. The scoring in the first fight confirms just how tight it was.
One judge scored it 114-113 in favor of Wardley, one scored it 115-112 to Clarke, and one saw it as a 113-113 even card.
Wardley is the more experienced fighter and is also the younger man. But after a quiet start to life as a professional, Clarke is now starting to look more like the real deal.
Clarke will take confidence from how badly he beat up Wardley in their March showdown.
But on the flip side, Wardley will know that despite his injuries, Clarke still couldn’t stop him.
The fight looks too close to call. So for my boxing pick, I am looking at the total rounds market.
My heart is telling me to back Clarke. But my head is saying that neither man will want another 12 rounds like that again, so I’m expecting the fight to end early.
The betting pick is for the Wardley vs. Clarke fight to finish in under 9.5 rounds.
