LOUD
Loud, who play out of Brazil, placed second at the LOCK//IN Sao Paulo event in 2023, won the VCT Americas League in 2023, ended up in 7th-8th place at the 2023 Masters Tokyo, and finished 3rd in VCT Champions 2023. This year, LOUD finished as the runner-up at the Americas Kickoff tournament in early March. The Brazilian squad fell to Sentinels 3-2 in that event.
LOUD has played well in VCT events, but with only one victory last year, the team will be looking to make a statement in Madrid.
The majority of LOUD’s roster has been playing together since 2022, but the team lost Aspas to Leviatan and added in qck from FURIA Esports to their roster in November 2023.
Sentinels
Playing out of the United States, Sentinels enter the Valorant Champions Tour 2024: Masters Madrid coming off a somewhat surprising victory at the VCT 2024: Americas Kickoff event, where their betting odds were +450 to win. The team is among the betting favorites to take first place in this event because of their performance in that recent tournament.
Sentinels is looking to make waves in Madrid as it’s been quite a while since the team earned a win in an international Valorant event. In fact, the last time they triumphed internationally was at VCT: Stage 2 Masters – Reykjavik in May 2021.
In addition to their win at the Americas Kickoff tournament, Sentinels won the AfreecaTV event in December 2023.
Sentinels will have the same roster in Madrid that they had for their win in Los Angeles earlier this month.
Paper Rex
Competing out of Southeast Asia, Paper Rex had a good year in 2023. The club started out rough by placing 17th-32nd at LOCK//IN Sao Paulo but followed that with a first-place finish in the Pacific League, a third place at Masters Tokyo, and a runner-up spot at Champions 2023. The team kicked off 2024 with a second-place finish in the Pacific Kickoff, where they lost to Gen. G Sports 3-1 in the Grand Final.
Paper Rex has been playing together as a unit since March 2023. However, half of the team has been together since 2021.
Paper Rex finished second in December in the AfreecaTV event, losing to Sentinels 3-0.
