After winning the Formula 1 Drivers’ Championship for the third successive year in 2023, Max Verstappen has already been installed as the -375 betting favorite to win the 2024 title in the latest F1 futures markets. The Dutchman is looking for his fourth successive title next year, and it’s already difficult to see anybody stopping him.

2023 F1 Masterclass from Verstappen
Max Verstappen has won the Drivers’ Championship in 2021, 2022, and 2023. In 2023, he was at his most dominant. The Dutchman won the title with a staggering 575 points, putting him 290 points ahead of the second-placed driver, Sergio Perez (285 points).
It was an absolute mauling. Red Bull won 21 of the 22 Grand Prixs held. Of those 21 wins, Verstappen was the winning driver 19 times. This included a record-winning streak of ten. He also finished the season on a winning streak of seven.

Is 2024 set to be the same?
Can anyone stop Max Verstappen from winning the Drivers’ Championship again in 2023? According to the best Formula 1 betting sites, Lando Norris (+700) is the driver most likely.
But Verstappen and his Red Bull team were light years ahead of the rest of the paddock in 2023. So even if McLaren can close the gap, are they realistically going to be able to close it enough to compete with the triple-world champion? It could already be the case that Verstappen is a shoo-in to win again in 2024, and even at -375, he is already the best betting pick.
Betting to win the 2024 F1 Drivers’ Championship
Okay, so Max Verstappen is the favorite to win the 2024 Drivers’ Championship at -375. Unless there is some drastic change to the rules, or something goes wrong at Red Bull, it is already hard to see him not winning again.
The bookmakers think that his most likely competitor is going to be Lando Norris (+700). Lewis Hamilton is in the mix at +1100. He was always going to be. He is a seven-time World Champion himself. And until 2021, his Mercedes team was the dominant force in F1.
Behind the leading trio, the odds make for interesting reading. Lando Norris’s McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri is +2000, with George Russell at +2200 and Sergio Perez down at +2800. Perez finished second in the Drivers’ Championship last season. So, to see him that far down the betting is eye-opening. The two Ferreri drivers make up the top six in the betting, with Charles Leclerc at +3300 and Carlos Sainz at +4000.
We would expect those odds to change after testing takes place in Bahrain. That begins on February 21st. If all goes to plan for Verstappen and Red Bull, the -375 currently available will likely disappear at that point.

Betting to win the 2024 Constructors’ Championship
As Red Bull won 21 of 22 races in 2023, it goes without saying that they also dominated the Constructors’ Championship. In the end, Christian Horner’s team picked up 860 points, clinching the title after the 16th race of the season. Mercedes finished second on 409, Ferrari third on 406.

Red Bull has now won the Constructors’ Championship in 2022 and 2023. In 2024, they are -360 to win for a third successive year. Mercedes are second in the betting at +500, with McLaren third at +550 and Ferrari fourth at +900.
Our Early 2024 F1 Betting Picks
If the season was starting tomorrow, most punters would snap up Max Verstappen to win at odds of -375. He was shorter to win Grand Prix races last season (he was regularly at -400). So even though -375 is short odds, it already looks like buying money.
With one driver so dominant, it is hard to find good value. A combination of the best car and best driver will come out on top over a season. And as we already mentioned, even if McLaren can close the gap, will it be enough to challenge?
If all goes to plan, the -375 on Verstappen shouldn’t last beyond testing in February. So grab it now if you’re confident and happy to bet at odds on. Otherwise, maybe wait and see how the land lies closer to the time and have a punt on a driver in the betting without Verstappen market.
Alternatively, if Red Bull is going to dominate and Sergio Perez has a better season, he could be worth a wager at +2800. Those odds seem very long for a driver in one of the two best cars on the starting grid.
