- What; 2024 Premier League Darts Night 5
- When; Thursday, February 29th

Michael van Gerwen made it a hat-trick of Premier League Night wins when he defeated Nathan Aspinall 6-4 in the final on Night 4 last Thursday. That means van Gerwen has won three of the four nights, and he also has a healthy lead in the points table as the competition heads into its fifth week.
Michael Van Gerwen once again stole the show last night…
But what does the league table look like after Night 4? 🤔

Again, MVG defeated his new rival, Luke Littler, on his way to winning the night in Newcastle. MVG won a last-leg decider in the pair’s semi-final match. This was also the same scoreline that MVG defeated Littler by in their final on Night 2 of the competition, showing how fine the margins are between the pair.

Night 5 Quarter-Final Line Up
What a cracker of a match we have in store to get Night 5 started with Michael van Gerwen facing Luke Humphries. The pair also met in the final on Night 3, with van Gerwen coming out on top by one leg.
The winner of that clash will play whoever comes out on top in the battle of the bottom two, Nathan Aspinall and Peter Wright. Both Aspinall and Wright put in improved performances in Newcastle. Aspinall made it to the final, while Wright pushed Luke Littler in his quarter-final, only losing by one leg.
In the bottom half of the draw, Gerwyn Price takes on Rob Cross. The winner will face either Luke Littler or Michael Smith, who clash in the final match of the night. Blink, and you might miss that one.
The clash with Littler also explains why Smith is the seventh favorite in the betting to win the night.
- Luke Humphries (+115) vs. Michael van Gerwen (-135)
- Nathan Aspinall (-145) vs. Peter Wright (+125)
- Gerwyn Price (-155) vs. Rob Cross (+135)
- Luke Littler (-210) vs. Michael Smith (+180)
Premier League Darts: Night 5 Betting Picks
Our first betting pick for Night 5 is for Peter Wright to defeat Nathan Aspinall. Wright had been hopeless in the Premier League up until Night 4 in Newcastle. Yes, he lost again in the quarter-final. This time to Luke Littler. But Wright had a dart to win and knows he should have sent the youngster packing.
Nathan Aspinall went all the way to the final in Newcastle. He scored impressive wins against Michael Smith and Rob Cross. But we feel in an even-looking matchup against Wright, he will come up short.
We are making Peter Wright to beat Nathan Aspinall, our first betting pick.
Luke Littler’s form has been a bit up and down lately, but Michael Smith’s has been even worse. Smith won Night 1, but in the last two nights, he has gone out in the quarter-finals. On Night 3, Smith lost 6-4 to Rob Cross. And on Night 4, he lost 6-5 to Nathan Aspinall.
We can see Luke Littler beating Smith with a couple of legs to spare. Luke Littler to beat Michael Smith on the handicap is our second Night 5 quarter-final betting pick.
Our Pick to win Premier League Darts Night 5
In all three of van Gerwen’s night wins he could have either lost the final or in the case of Night 4, he could have lost the semi-final. He’s not been winning by much. And he had to face match darts on more than one occasion across the three nights.
We feel the three-time winners’ luck may run out this week. Luke Littler is yet to win a Premier League Darts night. This could be his turn. We make Luke Littler our pick to win Premier League Darts Night 5.
