Feeney and Brown start strong
Broc Feeney (+225) and Will Brown (+275) are the favorites to capture the Supercars drivers championship after each winning a round at the season-opening Bathurst 500.
Brown replaced van Gisbergen at Triple Eight, leaving Erebus Motorsport. The 25-year-old finished 0.39 seconds behind Feeney in the season-opening race before battling off Chaz Mostert for first place in race two. Heading to Albert Park on March 21-24, Brown sits nine points ahead of his new Triple Eight teammate in the standings.

Where is Brodie Kostecki?
After already sitting out the Bathurst 500, Brodie Kostecki (+450) will miss the upcoming Melbourne SuperSprint. The reigning champion is feuding with Erebus Motorsport, who has momentarily replaced Kostecki with Todd Hazelwood (+2000).
Supercars will race on all four days of the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne – the first two races will be 20 laps and the final two races will be short 14-lap sprints. This means Kostecki will miss at least the first six races of the 24-race Supercars series, essentially putting the 26-year-old out of contention for another title.
Other Supercars contenders
Chaz Mostert (+475) placed fourth overall in last year’s standings despite going winless on the season. The Andretti United driver went on a heater during the second half of 2023, grabbing podiums in Townsville, Sydney and The Bend. Just 21 points off the championship lead after a strung debut at Mount Panorama, Mostert and his Ford Mustang look capable of competing with Feeney and Brown’s Chevrolets.
Cameron Waters (+600) finished second in the Supercars Championship in both 2020 and 2022. He placed 16th and 22nd in Bathurst after “battling nausea and dizzy spells”. The last man to miss the podium at the season-opener and rebound to win a Supercars title was Jamie Whincup in 2017.

Best Bet
Broc Feeney and Will Brown could be in a season-long battle for the No. 1 spot at Triple Eight. With slightly longer odds and a sterling resume, we’ll take Brown (+275) to top his teammate for the 2024 V8 Supercars championship.
