Elite League Explainer
In the PBA Elite League, eight six-man teams go head-to-head twice during a 14-round regular season that uses a Race-to-Two baker format. At the conclusion of Round 14 on April 27, the top six clubs will advance to the PBA Elite League Playoffs Finals, with the top two earning a bye through the quarterfinals.
The playoffs will take place at Bayside Bowl in Portland, Maine from Sept. 15 to 17 with $100,000 going to the championship-winning team.

High Rollers favored
Las Vegas (+350) has the best record in the league at 7-2 through the first nine rounds of the year. The High Rollers’ 218.22 pin average is just a fraction under that of the second-place Lumberjacks. Portland (+400) is averaging 218.25 and has a 7-3 record. Both squads are well positioned to earn one of the two byes in the PBA Elite League Playoffs.
At 1-8, Waco (+1600) will almost certainly miss the postseason. The Wonders used the waiver wire to pick up Zach Wilkins as a replacement for 2023 MVP Ryan Ciminelli, who had a league-low 29.17% strike rate, but it’s likely too little too late.
Looking for a longshot?
Dallas (+1200) will be hard-pressed to make the playoffs at 2-7. They’re currently two games back of Lucky Strike L.A. X (+600) for the sixth and final postseason spot. However, maybe their luck is due to turn around down the stretch.
The Strikers have the third-highest scoring averaging (217.78) behind only Las Vegas (218.22) and Portland (218.25). And their opponents hold a league-high 226.89 pin scoring average against them.
It is the dawn of a new era.

Teams to Fade
With six wins apiece, New Jersey (+450) and Akron (+500) are in excellent shape to make the playoffs. But only eighth-place Waco (204.11) has a lower pin scoring average than the KingPins (207.94) and the Atom Splitters (207.90). Both teams’ placement in the standings have been buoyed by their competition. A league-low 203.94 opponent average for New Jersey and 207.90 for Akron.
Best Bet
Motown (+450) has a lower scoring average (213.30) than Dallas (226.89), but at 5-5 they have a much better chance of reaching the Playoffs Finals than the 2-7 Strikers.
If the Muscle can get hot at Bayside Bowl this September, they’ll have the best shot at toppling Las Vegas and Portland.
