Blue Bombers favored
After winning back-to-back championships, Winnipeg (+250) has been upset in the Grey Cup final in consecutive seasons. One year after falling to Toronto in the big game, they lost 28-24 to Montreal when the Alouettes scored a touchdown with just 15 seconds remaining.
Two-time Most Outstanding Player, Zach Collaros, will be back under center at age 35. The Blue Bombers re-signed all-star receiver Dalton Schoen, who’s racked up 2,600 yards and 26 touchdowns in his first two seasons. 2023 CFL rushing leader Brady Oliveira is also back in the fold, however, the club lost stalwart offensive lineman Jermarcus Hardrick in free agency.

Chad Kelly suspended
Can Toronto (+300) tread water for half a season without starting quarterback Chad Kelly? The 2023 CFL Most Outstanding Player was suspended for at least nine games after a league investigation found him guilty of sexually harassing a former strength-and-conditioning coach.
Sophomore QBs Cameron Dukes and Bryan Scott will compete for the starting gig, but both played sparingly last year as Kelly led the Argonauts to a league-best and franchise-record 16-2 mark.
Can the Alouettes repeat?
Montreal (+550) closed last season with eight straight victories. Two-time champion Cody Fajardo is back after passing for 290 yards and three TDs in the Grey Cup upset of the Bombers. The 31-year-old quarterback had a CFL-best 71.6 completion percentage in 2023, throwing for 3,847 yards with 14 TDs and 12 INTs in 16 starts.
What an absolute nails drive from Cody Fajardo.

Best Longshot
Edmonton (+1200) would likely be satisfied with a playoff berth given that they haven’t made the postseason since 2019. However, after tying for last (4-14) in 2023, they brought in free agent McLeod Bethel-Thompson. In his last season in the CFL in 2022, the QB led the league with 4,731 passing yards. The Elks also acquired two-time East Division All-Star Kurleigh Gittens Jr. and signed Eugene Lewis to give MBT two elite pass-catching threats.
Best Bet
British Columbia (+550) fell to the Bombers in last year’s Western final after a 12-6 season. The Lions lost the CFL’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player Mathieu Betts to the NFL. But, their offense looks explosive with dual-threat QB Vernon Adams Jr., 2021 rushing champion William Stanback and a loaded receiving corps featuring Jevon Cottoy, Alexander Hollins and Keon Hatcher.
