Arizona Diamondbacks season so far

Arizona’s season started in perfect fashion with back-to-back wins, before a horror run of seven defeats in nine games including three-in-a-row against the Atlanta Braves saw big questions raised. Following that they bounced back with a run of four wins in five, as they ended the month of April with a record of 14-17.

May started in similar fashion again as they lost their first three games of the month to the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres, before finding form and going on a four-game winning streak including three victories in a row against the Cincinnati Reds. However, they failed to win or lose three games in a row for the rest of the month until May 26, where they started a five-game losing skid to end the month with an overall record of 25-32.

Since then though they have improved greatly, and they opened June with four wins in a row and five wins in their first six games. The Padres once again caused them issues and beat them twice before the Diamondbacks put together another excellent run of eight wins in their next 11 games. They ended the month with five defeats to put a downer on things, but they’ve gone from strength to strength since then.

In July they started impressively, winning back-to-back games on three different occasions including their four-game winning streak which included two victories apiece over the Atlanta Braves and Toronto Blue Jays. After the All-Star break the team went on a run of 9-3 to end the month in great form heading into August.

So far this month the D-Backs have gone 11-2 with a four-game winning streak, followed by defeat to the Philadelphia Phillies, which in turn sparked a stunning six-game winning streak. They then lost three in a row against the Tampa Bay Rays, but have bounced back with two wins against the Marlins before this match-up to give them an overall record of 71-56 and sit them third in the National League West.

Miami Marlins season so far

Miami started the season in the worst possible fashion as they fell to nine defeats in a row against the Pirates, Angels and Cardinals, before finally claiming a win over St Louis in their tenth game of the season. That joy was short-lived as they lost their next two games however, before then winning five of their next 11 games. They then closed the month with seven defeats in a row, ending the month with an overall record of 7-24.

May was their best month of the season up to this point, as it was the only month where they picked up more wins than losses. They started with consecutive wins over the Rockies, before they fell to seven defeats in their next eight games. However they finally found a way to put some momentum together as they picked up nine wins in their next 12 games, including a four game winning streak.

June was horrible as they failed even get double-digits victories, going 9-17 for the month. In fact, they managed just two wins in their first 14 games of the month, before going on a three-game winning streak against the Cardinals and Mariners. They then alternated losses and wins in their final nine games, going 4-5 along the way.

July was a little bit better as they went 10-14, but they lost their first four games once again against the Red Sox and White Sox, before winning twice against Chicago. They then went on a five-game losing streak again, before winning seven of their next ten to boost their record up.

So far in August things haven’t gone too well for them once again, having gone 6-12 heading into this game. They have only managed to win back-to-back games twice so far, but they have lost three consecutive games twice too and come into this game having lost five of their last six matches.

MLB Picks: Arizona Diamondbacks to win

Arizona Diamondbacks have been the stand out team in the MLB recently, and offensively there aren’t many teams who can hold a candle to them currently.

The D-Backs have scored more runs than anyone else in the entire league (665), have the fourth-best batting average (.260), second best on-base percentage (.333) and fifth-best slugging percentage (.431).

Their pitching hasn’t been the strongest though, but they should still have more than enough to power past the Marlins once again and cruise to victory.
