Atlanta’s hot start
Atlanta took two of three games against Cleveland in what was a matchup of the best teams in both the National and American League. Much of the Braves’ early success can be attributed to Marcell Ozuna. The 33-year-old DH leads the league with 31 RBIs and his nine home runs is second only to Mike Trout. He’s also hitting a sparkling .340 at the plate.
Heading into Monday’s game with the Mariners, Atlanta’s +47 run differential was tops in the majors. Brian Snitker’s new-look rotation also ranks No. 10 in the league (3.72 ERA) through 26 games.

Seattle stringing together wins
Seattle had won nine of 11 games before a 3-2 loss to the Diamondbacks on Sunday. Heading into Monday’s series opener with Atlanta, Mariners’ starters had allowed two or fewer runs in 16 straight games – a franchise record. They also have the third-ranked team ERA in the MLB at 3.10, behind only the Red Sox and Yankees.
Mariners vs Braves
Atlanta is -146 on the money line, while the Mariners are +134 to win at home. The Braves have a 8-3 record on the road and are +120 to cover the 1.5 run line. Seattle, which has a 9-7 home record, is -140 to cover the +1.5 spread at T-Mobile Park.
The over/under has been set at just 7.5 total runs with -120 juice towards the UNDER. Atlanta is the highest-scoring team in baseball, averaging 5.73 runs per game. However, Seattle’s struggled at the plate this season, averaging only 3.71 runs per content (sixth-worst in MLB). Both clubs also rank top-ten in team ERA league-wide.

Starting Pitching Matchup
Reynado Lopez (2-0) has a 0.72 ERA and 0.88 WHIP through four starts for the Braves. The former set-up man turned starting pitcher had his chance at a third-straight victory spoiled by a blown save last Wednesday.
Luis Castillo (2-4) allowed only two runs and four hits in his last start against the Rangers. However, both of those hits went over the fence. While he’s permitted home runs in four of his six outings this season, the 31-year-old has been on fire over his last three starts with a 1.89 ERA and 24 strikeouts.
Best Bet
With a starting pitching matchup this superb, it’s hard to go against the UNDER 7.5 runs (-120). While the Braves are the best team in baseball, we like Seattle’s chances (+134) with a red-hot Luis Castillo eager to earn his first home win of the campaign.
