Los Angeles keeps winning
Los Angeles has already built a 6.5-game lead in the NL West after winning 16 of its past 20 games. With Mookie Betts and Shohei Ohtani starring at the top of their order, they lead all of baseball in runs per game (5.2). Rookie Andy Pages has also added pop to the bottom of their order, with a .286 average and four home runs.
Despite suffering a rash of injuries to their pitching staff, the Dodgers’ 3.18 team ERA is only behind the Red Sox and Yankees.

Suffering in San Francisco
It’s beginning to look like a lost season for the Giants. Over the past two weeks, they’ve lost five starters and two bench players to injury. Jung Hoo Lee just dislocated his shoulder, joining Blake Snell on the disabled list. Prized free agent acquisition Matt Chapman is also hitting only .213.
When you add it all up, San Francisco ranks bottom three in the National League in runs per game and ERA. At five games under .500, they’re already trailing the Dodgers by nine games in the NL West.
Giants vs Dodgers
Los Angeles is -176 on the money line while the Giants are +161 to pick up the victory at Oracle Park. With a 11-9 record, Bob Melvin’s club is considerably better at home than they are on the road (8-15). They’re at -108 to cover the 1.5 run line on Wednesday. The Dodgers are 13-7 away from home this season. Dave Roberts’ team is -112 to cover the -1.5 spread.
The over/under has been set at 8.5 total runs. As mentioned, Los Angeles has scored the most runs in baseball (220). However, they’ve also limited opponents to the fewest runs per game (3.49) in 2024.

Glasnow start pushed back
Tyler Glasnow (6-1) was originally supposed to draw the mound on Wednesday. The Dodgers decided to push it back a day so Glasnow can stay on his schedule (five days off between every start) and stay fresh.
With the 30-year-old unavailable, Los Angeles will likely go with a bullpen game.
Best Bet
With the Dodgers’ ace not on the hill on Wednesday, we’ll take the Giants (+161) to win at home over their division rivals with the OVER 8.5 runs (-107).
