- New York (12-4) is off to one of its best starts in its 120+ year franchise history
- Toronto (8-8) has struggled at the plate this season with a lowly .224 team batting average
- Blue Jays vs Yankees meet at Rogers Field in Toronto, CA on Monday, April 15 at 7:07 PM ET
New York was on the verge of a three-game sweep over Cleveland before the Guardians mounted a three-run rally in the 10th to score an unlikely victory. The AL-East leading Yankees will look to rebound in Toronto on Monday night. The Blue Jays are coming off a 5-0 shutout over Colorado.
Before we look at the latest odds for Monday’s divisional matchup, here’s where you can find our 2024 World Series betting guide and the best MLB baseball betting sites.

New York’s hot start
Looking for their first World Series title since 2009, the Yankees’ 12-3 start is tied for the best in the organization’s long history. Aaron Judge hit his 260th career home run in Sunday’s 8-7 loss to Cleveland, tying him with Derek Jeter for ninth place on the franchise’s all-time list.
Juan Soto has looked incredible in his first few games in Pinstripes. The 25-year-old Dominican crushed his third dinger of the season in Saturday’s win over the Guardians. The Bronx Bombers are 8-2 on the road, and have won their first five series for only the third time ever.

Jays offense heating up?
The Blue Jays scored 14 runs in their three-game series versus the Rockies. Free-agent acquisition Justin Turner drove in three runs in Sunday’s contest to lead Toronto to back-to-back victories. The former Dodger is hitting .386 with an OPS of 1.095 and eight RBIs, pacing his club in all three categories.
Vladimir Guerrero has three home runs this season, but is otherwise struggling at the plate with a .194 batting average and .306 on-base percentage. Shortstop Bo Bichette has also been awful with a .214 batting average and a .279 OBP.
Blue Jays vs Yankees
New York and Toronto are both -108 on the money line. The Yankees are +138 to cover the 1.5 run line while the Jays are at -166 to cover the +1.5 spread at Rogers Centre, where they’re 4-2 this season. Aaron Boone’s team took two of three games versus their AL East rivals in Yankee Stadium just over a week ago.
The over/under has been set at 9 total runs with -122 juice towards the UNDER. John Schneider’s club is only averaging 3.73 runs (9th-worst) through 16 games while NY is at 4.8 runs per game.

Starting Pitching Matchup
Luis Gil (0-0) struck out eight Blue Jays hitters last Sunday, but didn’t factor into the decision. Through two starts, the Yankees’ fifth starter has been fairly spectacular (3.00 ERA with 14 Ks) even though he’s still looking for his first win of the campaign.
Chris Bassitt (1-2) got his first W of 2024 in Tuesday’s 5-3 victory over Seattle. However, the veteran righty hasn’t been able to find the plate all year. He has a 17:9 K:BB with a 5.06 ERA through his first 16 innings this season.
Best Bet
Since both starting pitchers have struggled with their control this season, we like the OVER 9 (+100) as runners should be on base all day. It’s also hard to go against a Yankees team that hasn’t lost a series in 2024. We’ll take New York -1.5 (+138).
