The stars of NASCAR will be taking their turns around the roval this week and it isn’t the usual suspects that the oddsmakers are picking to be contending for the win.

Road-course specialist Shane Van Gisbergen is the +575 betting favorite to win the Bank of America Roval 400. His Kaulig Racing teammate AJ Allmendinger, who won this race in 2023, is set as the co-third betting choice at +800.

Joining him at those odds is current NASCAR Cup Series points leader William Byron. Kyle Larson, the 2021 NASCAR champion, is given odds of +700 to win the race.

This race sees the conversion of Charlotte Motor Speedway into a hybrid track that is part oval and part road course. Hence the name roval.

The hybrid circuit at Charlotte includes 17 turns and a 35-foot elevation change. The distance around a lap is 12.28 miles. The drivers will be required to complete 109 laps to finish the 248.5 miles of this race. The Bank Of America Roval 400 is divided into three stages of 25, 25 and 59 laps.

Following the completion of this race, the NASCAR Cup playoff field will be whittled down from 12 to eight drivers. Any driver who wins a race during the playoffs will be automatically advancing to the next round.
