Kyle Larson favored for fifth victory of the season at FireKeepers Casino 400

Kyle Larson is the betting favorite to win the 2024 FireKeepers Casino 400. The race is taking place at Michigan International Speedway. Chris Buescher won the race 12 months ago. He will be hoping to repeat that victory on Sunday. In our latest NASCAR betting picks we tell you if Buescher can do it, or if the betting sites have called it correctly in naming Larson as their favorite.

The big picture

The FireKeepers Casino 400 is Round 24 of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series. After this race, there are only two races left before the playoffs get underway.

In last weekend’s race from Richmond, Austin Dillon upset not only the form book but also Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin, as the RCR driver took his first checkered flag in two seasons.

An audacious move on the final lap saw him win the race after making contact with his rivals.

The win sees Dillon go from 32nd on the points table to an automatic playoff berth. However, he has since been docked 25 points and told his victory will not count towards the end of season playoffs.

Make of that what you will.

The wait for a win for pre-race favorite Martin Truex Jr. still goes on, as the only driver in the top ten in the points table without a victory recorded his first DNF of the season.

The race from Michigan will be far different from last weekend, with Richmond’s short .75-mile circuit replaced by a far bigger 2-mile oval in Brooklyn. Chris Buescher won here last year. The RFK Racing driver held off Martin Truex Jr. (2nd) and Denny Hamlin (3rd).

NASCAR FireKeepers Casino 400 Winner Betting

Martin Truex Jr. was the +500 betting favorite to win the 2024 Cook Out last weekend. Some normality has returned for this Sunday’s race with five drivers all at under +1000 and a further three bang on the money.

The betting favorite is Kyle Larson at +550. Larson is ahead of Denny Hamlin at +600, Ryan Blaney at +650, and Tyler Reddick at +700.

Brad Keselowski is +900, with Christopher Bell, Joey Logano, and Martin Truex Jr. all at +1000. Chase Elliott and William Byron are also both in the mix at +1200, with 2023 winner Chris Buescher and Ty Gibbs both at +1600.

Betting to win the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series

There has been a slight change in the betting to win the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series.

Previously, Kyle Larson, Denny Hamlin, and Christopher Bell had been joint favorites at +450.

The betting now has Larson and Hamlin as joint favorites at +400, with Bell at +425. The odds seem to be shortening as we get closer to the playoffs.

Elsewhere, William Byron is +700 and Ryan Blaney is +800. Chase Elliott is +1000, Tyler Reddick is +1200, and Martin Truex Jr. is +1400.

Kyle Larson sits at the top of the standings with 779 points. There is a new name in second position with Tyler Reddick moving ahead of Chase Elliott.

Reddick finished third at Richmond last Sunday. His podium finish sees him move onto 774 points, one ahead of Elliott, who sits on 773. And with Denny Hamlin on 758, there is a tight four-way battle at the top of the drivers’ standings.

2024 FireKeepers Casino 400 Winner Betting Picks and Predictions

Two Joe Gibbs Racing drivers finished in the top three in this race last year and another started the race from the pole position.

Martin Truex Jr. was second, and Denny Hamlin was third. Both will be in with a chance this year, as will Christopher Bell, who started in pole position 12 months ago.

Rather than back one or the other, we say a bet on a Joe Gibbs Racing car to win the race at +180 is the best value betting pick.

Winning driver pick

If pushed for a winning driver pick, we would go with Denny Hamlin.

Hamlin is in better form than Truex Jr. and the rest of the Joe Gibbs team, having finished second at Richmond last weekend.

At +600, Hamlin would be our pick to win the race if we had to name a driver.

Best longshot bets

For a longshot bet, we are going for Christopher Bell. He sits sixth in the points table and has finished sixth and fourth in his last two races, while gradually coming back to form ahead of the playoffs having recorded a couple of DNFs at Nashville and Chicago.

Bell is +1000 to win the race. If you think he is too much of a risk to back to win, Bell is +325 for a top-three finish and +180 for the top five.

Last year’s winner Chris Buescher is also worth considering for a top-three finish at +500.
