The Miami Heat are headed to Texas to face off against the Dallas Mavericks in a game that marks a back-to-back for both squads.

This matchup promises to be exciting, and we’ve got you covered with our prediction for the Heat vs. Mavericks. Miami is coming off a road loss to the Thunder, while Dallas secured a narrow victory over the Warriors at home.

In their last game, the Heat initially led the Thunder, having a 21-point advantage at one point and holding a 10-point lead entering the fourth quarter.

However, they collapsed in the final quarter, allowing the Thunder to launch a 24-0 run. They ultimately fell 115-101, getting outscored 32-8 in that quarter.

Miami shot 45.6% from the field and 32.4% from three-point range, but struggled defensively, permitting Oklahoma City to shoot 48.9% overall and 38.5% from beyond the arc.

Despite winning the rebounding battle, Miami turned the ball over 16 times. They were outscored by 10 points on fast breaks. Bam Adebayo led the team with 27 points, 15 rebounds, and four assists.

Davion Mitchell and Tyler Herro each contributed 14 points, while Andrew Wiggins added 13 points and four rebounds. Off the bench, Nikola Jovic and Alec Burks both chipped in with 11 points.

Meanwhile, the Mavericks held off the Warriors for a 111-107 win in a tightly contested game. Dallas had a 15-point lead, but Golden State rallied back to tie it at 107 with 35 seconds left.

Naji Marshall hit a crucial jump shot to put the Mavericks ahead, and Max Christie sealed the win with two free throws.

Dallas shot 48.3% from the field and 41.7% from three, while limiting the Warriors to 42.7% shooting overall and 28.6% from three. Despite being out-rebounded by 11 and outscored by 14 in the paint, Kyrie Irving had a standout performance. He scored 42 points on 15-of-25 shooting and grabbing seven rebounds.

Klay Thompson and Max Christie added 17 points each, while Brandon Williams and Naji Marshall contributed 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Miami narrowly missed defeating the top team in the league, but they are still adjusting to their new roster post-Jimmy Butler trade. The additions of Andrew Wiggins and Davion Mitchell should enhance the team’s performance as they look to improve after the All-Star break.

On the other hand, Dallas has been dealing with injuries since their Luka Doncic/Anthony Davis trade. They were missing several key players, including Anthony Davis (adductor strain), Daniel Gafford (knee), Dwight Powell (hip), Dereck Lively II (ankle), P.J. Washington (ankle), and Dante Exum (Achilles).

In this matchup, the Heat are likely to dominate the paint, and I expect a strong performance from Bam Adebayo. Adebayo is coming off a great game against the Thunder.

Given the Mavericks’ current lack of depth and the fatigue after their previous game, look for Miami to excel in the paint. They should be able to cover the spread on the road. Lay the 2 points with the Heat on the road in this one.

Under 222-110-110-110

I’m leaning towards the under in this matchup since both teams played last night and had four players logging over 30 minutes. The Heat aren’t known for their high scoring, operating at one of the slowest paces in the NBA.

Currently, Miami ranks 27th in pace and has scored under 110 points in six of their last seven outings.

On the season, Miami averages 110 PPG points, shooting 45.3% from the field and 36.2% from three. They are allowing 110.5 points per game on 46% shooting by opponents.

With the Mavericks somewhat depleted, particularly in the frontcourt, I expect the Heat to focus on attacking the rim rather than relying on three-point shots.

This season, the Mavericks are scoring 115.8 points per game on 47.8% shooting and giving up 113.7 points at a 45.9% shooting rate.

Dallas is missing several key players and is depending on young, inexperienced athletes to step up with heavy minutes. For the Mavericks to secure a win, they’ll need standout performances from Kyrie Irving and Klay Thompson.

Overall, Dallas is likely to find it challenging to score. They may struggle to get production from their role players. Therefore, I’m taking the under.
