Team Finland got themselves back into contention to win the 4 Nations Face-Off with a 4-3 overtime win over Sweden on Saturday.

The Canadians suffered a huge setback with their defeat to the USA. Jon Cooper’s team came up short against Mike Sullivan’s side at the Bell Centre on Saturday.

With three points available for a regulation-time win, the USA cannot now be caught. Their place in the final is sealed.

If either the Finns or the Canadians win in regulation time, they will go through to the final. Any other result brings Sweden back into contention.

Below we look at the latest betting for the Finns against Team Canada.

Finland vs. Canada match betting

Canada is the huge betting favorite to win their final round-robin match against Finland.

Finland

Finland had a night to forget when they took on Team USA in their opening match of the 2025 4 Nations Face-Off.

Henri Jokiharju gave Finland an early lead. But that was as good as it got for the Finns. The US dominated from that moment on, eventually running out 6-1 winners.

Somehow, Antti Pennanen picked his team up off the floor and turned things around for Finland’s second match.

Needing a win over Sweden in their second match to keep their 4 Nations hopes alive, Finland pulled off a remarkable 4-3 overtime win. Mikael Granlund was the hero with the winning goal 01:49 into the extra period.

If the Finns beat Canada in regulation time, they go through. If Finland wins in overtime or on penalties, the Swedes can clinch second place in the final with a regulation-time win over the USA.

Finland is +1200 to win the 4 Nations Face-Off outright.

Canada

Things could have gone a lot better for Jon Cooper’s Canada in their two matches in Montreal.

Team Canada started with a 4-3 win over Sweden thanks to an overtime goal from Mitch Marner. The Canadians threw away a two-goal lead in the final period against the Swedes, meaning they only received two points for the win, rather than the expected three for a regulation-time victory.

Worse was to come. In their second match against Team USA, Canada was beaten 3-1 by their arch-rivals.

Going into the showdown as the -120 betting favorites, all was going to plan when Connor McDavid fired the Canadians into a 1-0 lead after 05:31 of the first period.

But Jake Guentzel tied the score at 1-1 less than five minutes later. Dylan Larkin scored the go-ahead goal for the US in the second period, with Guentzel sealing the match with his second of the night 18:41 into the third period.

Roared on by a partisan home crowd, it was a night to forget for Team Canada.

As a result of the loss, Jon Copper’s team will need to beat Finland in regulation time to go through to Thursday’s final. The one positive to take from the loss to the US is Canada still has its destiny in its own hands.

If Canada requires overtime or penalties to defeat the Finns, the Swedes could nip in through the back door and steal the second spot in the final with a regulation-time win over the US.

Canada is the +175 second favorite to win the 2025 4 Nations Face-Off.

Finland vs. Canada Betting Pick

After two sub-standard performances, it’s time for Jon Cooper’s team to show up and deliver the goods.

Maybe playing in front of their own fans in the current political situation placed additional pressure on the Canadians. They are away from that situation now, so they can just focus on playing ice hockey.

If they don’t manage to improve, they could be out of the competition at the round-robin stage – which would be humiliating. And they certainly won’t want to be relying on any favors from the US in their match later in the day.

Our pick is for Canada to win and cover the spread.
