Kentucky Wildcats
In their last ten matches, the Wildcats are 7-3. Across this sequence of matches, the Wildcats have scored an average of 85.5 points and conceded 79.8 points per game.
The Wildcats defeated MS State 95-90 in their last outing on Saturday. Jaxson Robinson was the match-winner, with the guard scoring a season-high 27 points.
Kentucky nearly threw the match away. They led by 14 points with 15 minutes remaining in regulation, only to see MS State move into the lead with just eight minutes remaining. However, the Wildcats dug deep and managed to fight back and take the win.
After hosting the Aggies, Kentucky will welcome the Alabama Crimson Tide to the Rupp Arena on Saturday. That showdown is followed by a trip to Nashville to face Vanderbilt the following Saturday.
In the latest AP Rankings released on Monday, the Wildcats slipped two places from No.6 to No.8. They are now +1800 to win the 2025 National Championship match and +375 to reach the Final Four.
Texas A&M Aggies
Texas A&M are 9-1 in their last ten outings. They have scored an average of 77.4 points and conceded 65.8 points per match over this period.
The Aggies went down 94-88 to the Alabama Crimson Tide in their last outing. The defeat snapped A&M’s nine-game winning streak.
Zhuric Phelps was the driving force behind the Aggies. The guard led the way with 24 points. But despite the best efforts of Phelps and co, the Aggies could do no better than simply cling to the coattails of the Crimson Tide. Texas could never quite manage to reel them in.
Whenever Buzz Williams’ team threatened to close the gap, the Crimson Tide upped the ante to keep them at bay.
Further hampering Texas was the absence of Wade Taylor IV for the second successive match. The senior guard looks set to miss the showdown with the Wildcats as well.
After the Wildcats challenge, next up for the Aggies is a home fixture against LMU on Saturday night. A&M will then visit Ole Miss on Wednesday, with the big one against the Longhorns taking place on January 25th.
In the latest AP Rankings, the Aggies slipped one place from No.10 to No.11. They are +6000 to win the 2025 National Championship match and +1400 to make the Final Four.
Kentucky Wildcats vs. Texas A&M Aggies Betting Picks
The Wildcats have gone 10-0 at home and the Aggies are 1-1 on the road.
The evidence seems to be pointing towards another home win, and further assisting Kentucky, is the absence of Wade Taylor IV.
But the Aggies cannot be dismissed. They were always close enough to the Crimson Tide to ensure it was an uncomfortable night for Nate Oats and his team. And they are also just coming off the back of a nine-match winning streak.
We feel that Kentucky will sneak the win. But we also say the Aggies will be close enough to cover the 6.5-point spread.
