The UConn Huskies are looking for their seventh successive win of the 2023/24 season when they take on the New Hampshire Wildcats at the Gampel Pavilion on Monday night. The 2023 Championship winners have started the season in top form, and as a result, they go into their latest match as the overwhelming favorites with the best NCAA Basketball betting sites. In our latest college basketball picks, we look ahead to the match and name our best bets.

- Who; UConn Huskies vs. New Hampshire Wildcats
- Where; Gampel Pavilion, Mansfield, Connecticut

The New Hampshire Wildcats are the latest team tasked with the job of trying to stop the Huskies. In their latest win, a 30-point victory over Manhattan, UConn tied a record of 23 consecutive wins against non-conference teams by double-digits.
Do it again against New Hampshire, and Dan Hurley’s team will take sole ownership of the record. The Huskies currently share the record with North Carolina, who originally set it in the 2008/09 season.
Betting to win the 2024 Championship
Before we move onto tonight’s match odds, let’s first look at what chance the best college basketball betting sites are giving UConn of defending their title.
At the moment, the No.5 ranked Huskies (+1800) are the seventh favorite in the betting with BetOnline. This puts them way behind the new outright solo favorites, the Purdue Boilermakers, who are +1000. The Boilermakers have started the season well (6-0) and have overtaken the Kansas Jayhawks in the betting. Kansas is now out at +1200.
Other college basketball teams in the betting mix are Marquette at +1400, with Duke, Arizona, and Houston all at +1600.
UConn Huskies vs. New Hampshire Wildcats Match Betting
Given this match is a matter of how many points UConn wins by, there are no college basketball odds on the money line. On the handicap, the best NCAA betting sites are giving New Hampshire a 30.5-point start. To cover the spread, UConn is -110. New Hampshire is -110 to win with the spread.
In the total points market, over 147.5 is the magic number. Under and over are both -110. More betting options are available on our college basketball odds table. For our odds, we only use the top-rated NCAA betting sites.

UConn is on a roll
As we already know, UConn is on a six-match winning streak in the 2023/24 NCAA men’s basketball season. There looks little to no chance that New Hampshire will end that run in Connecticut tonight.
So far this season, UConn has played four home matches at a combination of the XL Center and Gampel Pavilion. The differing locations haven’t mattered as the Huskies have racked up scores of 95-52 (vs. Northern), 107-67 (vs. Stonehill), 87-53 (MS Valley), and 90-60 (vs. Manhattan).
Only against Manhattan would the Huskies not have covered a 30.5-point spread. And even there, they would only have missed it by one point.
Tristen Newton comes into this match in good form and is a player to watch. Against Manhattan, Newton’s 15-point haul saw him become UConn’s all-time leading triple-double scorer, a record he previously tied with Shabazz Napier. He looks good to fill his boots again tonight against the Wildcats.

Solid start to the season for New Hampshire
Even though nobody seems to be giving New Hampshire any chance of success tonight, they have enjoyed a solid start to their 2023/24 season.
The Wildcats are 4-2 and come into this match on a two-match winning streak. Their most recent victory was an 83-80 win over the Fairfield Stags over the weekend. This followed on from their 74-71 win over Marist last week.
The Wildcats are one of the top scorers in the country, averaging just over 82 points a game. The chief contributor in this points fest is Clarence Daniels, who is himself averaging 20.8 points per game.
Our UConn Huskies vs. New Hampshire Betting Picks
A 30.5-point spread looks large on paper heading into this showdown. And given how high-scoring the Wildcats have been this season, it will require a major effort from the Huskies to cover.
Could the safer-looking bet on tonight’s match be the total points spread? Again, we’re not so sure. Our first instinct is yes. But the Wildcats won’t find it as easy to score against UConn as they have their other opponents. But even then, you can still see them managing roughly 60 points.
For UConn to cover, they are probably going to need between 90 and 100 points. Only once this season has UConn not managed 90 points at home, and that was when they scored 87 against MS Valley.
All this suggests that the bookmakers seem to have got this spot on. It does look like a 50/50 call on both markets. But what we do feel is both teams will go for it. So based on that theory, we are selecting over 147.5 points as our betting pick. If you are going to bet on the handicap spread, we would also recommend backing UConn to cover.
