Caleb Williams passed for 304 yards and two touchdowns in a 36-10 Bears victory over Carolina while Trevor Lawrence led his Jaguars to their first win of the year, passing for 371 yards, 2 TDs and an interception in a 37-34 triumph over the Colts.

Caleb improving fast
While No. 2 overall pick Jayden Daniels continues to steal all the headlines, Caleb Williams has shown rapid improvement of late. After completing only 5-of-29 passes of over 15 yards in his first four games, Chicago’s rookie QB went 4-of-4 for 108 yards and two TDs on deep passes in the Bears’ win over the Panthers.
Williams has also been dynamite against the blitz over the past two weeks, completing 17 of 19 passes for 200 yards and two scores. On Sunday, he’ll face a Jaguars defense allowing the most passing yards per game (287.8) in the NFL.

Jags get 1st win
Jacksonville defeated Indianapolis 37-34 on Sunday, despite allowing 24 fourth-quarter points to Joe Flacco and the Colts. On his 25th birthday, Trevor Lawrence passed for a career-high 371 yards with two TDs to end a personal nine-game losing streak that dates back to last year. He connected on a 85-yard bomb to rookie Brian Thomas, who finished with 122 yards and a score.
Sophomore back Tank Bigsby also rumbled for 101 yards and two TDs in what looks like a hostile takeover of the Jaguars’ backfield. Former starter Travis Etienne managed just 17 yards on six carries, but did add 43 yards on six receptions.
Chicago vs Jacksonville
Chicago is a 2-point favorite on Sunday. While officially being listed as the “road team”, the Jaguars will be playing their 12th game in England. Jacksonville has a 6-5 record in these contests after defeating both the Bills and Falcons in London last season. Meanwhile, the Bears fell to the Raiders 24-21 back in 2021 in their only match across the Pond.
Sunday’s matchup has an over/under of 43 points. Matt Eberflus’ defense is allowing just 17 points per game (No. 5 in the NFL). But while the Bears have the No. 6 overall pass defense (174 yards allowed per game), they’ve struggled against the run, permitting over 120 yards per contest.

Best Bet
Jacksonville is allowing the third-most points (28.6) per week and we’re not convinced their offense is fixed after one solid performance against a miserable Colts team. While the Jaguars have way more experience with London Games, as the saying goes, defense travels.
