Baker’s incredible season
Thrown to the curb by the Browns a few years ago, Baker Mayfield has become one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL with the Buccaneers. This season, the 29-year-old became the third player in league history to pass for 4,500+ yards and 40+ touchdowns with a 70+ completion percentage. Mayfield also learned to use his wheels, setting career highs in scrambles (46) and scramble yards (379).
Mayfield’s top target Mike Evans just recorded his 11th-straight 1,000-yard receiving season, tying Jerry Rice’s record. Rookie Jalen McMillan has been red hot as well, reeling in 24 receptions for 316 yards and 7 TDs over his last six games.

Jayden Daniels for OROY
Jayden Daniels is a lock for Offensive Rookie of the Year after passing for 3,568 yards and 25 TDs with 891 yards on the ground and six rushing scores. Best of all, he rejuvenated Terry McLaurin’s career. After toiling for years with terrible QB play, the veteran receiver hauled in 82 receptions for 1,096 yards and 13 TDs in 2024.
Washington closed the year on a five-game winning streak, but their schedule has been soft. The only playoff team they defeated was an Eagles squad missing Jalen Hurts in Week 16. The Commanders also lost to Tampa Bay 37-20 way back in Week 1.
Tampa Bay vs Washington
Tampa Bay is a 3-point home favorite at Raymond James Stadium, where they are just 5-4 this season, and the 50.5 point over/under is the highest on the Wild Card Weekend slate. The Buccaneers (29.5) and Commanders (28.5) rank #4 and #5 in points per game. Washington’s running game ranks #3 in the NFL (151.4 YPG) while the Bucs are #4 (149. 2 YPG). Led by Baker Mayfield, Tampa’s also averaging the 3rd-most passing yards per contest (250.4).
Neither club’s defense is all that impressive. Todd Bowles’ unit ranks #4 against the run, allowing only 97.8 rushing yards per game, however they’re #29 against the pass (243.9 YPG allowed). Conversely, Dan Quinn’s team permits the 3rd-fewest passing yards (189.5) and the 3rd-most rushing yards (137.5).

Best Bet
This one could go either way – but we’re giving the benefit of the doubt to a Bucs team with four quality wins on their resume: Commanders, Lions, Eagles and Chargers.
Take Tampa Bay to cover at home (-3) with the OVER 50.5.
