- Buffalo (8-2) is a 7-point home favorite over the San Francisco 49ers (5-5) in Week 13
- Josh Allen is the NFL MVP favorite after defeating Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in Week 11
- Sunday Night Football kicks off from Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, NY at 8:20 pm ET
Playing without starting quarterback Brock Purdy, the 49ers were handed a 38-10 loss by Green Bay on Sunday. With their playoff hopes fading, San Francisco travels to Orchard Park to face a rested Bills team coming off a bye. Following their Week 11 victory over the previously undefeated Chiefs, Buffalo has won six straight games and scored over 30 points in each of its past five contests.

Niners finished?
San Francisco’s nightmare season continued on Sunday with a decisive 28-point defeat to the Packers. In addition to missing Brock Purdy (shoulder) the Niners were without defensive end Nick Bosa (oblique) and left tackle Trent Williams (ankle). Kyle Shanahan’s team turned it over three times in the loss and had the ball run down their throats by Josh Jacobs.
Christian McCaffrey ran for an ultra-pedestrian 31 yards on 11 carries and has looked like a shell of himself since his return. Still, the 49ers remain only one-game behind the Seahawks and Cardinals in the NFC West. It was initially reported that Purdy could return in Week 13, but it’s anyone’s guess with how the Niners treat injury reports.

Bills keep winning
Josh Allen is a +130 favorite to win his first NFL MVP award after taking down the Chiefs in Week 11. Buffalo’s franchise QB passed for 262 yards, a TD and an INT, and added another 55 yards and a score on the ground. Making the performance even more impressive is the fact Allen did it without rookie wideout Keon Coleman and sophomore tight end Dalton Kincaid.
With both expected back in the lineup sooner than later, the Bills are a good bet to rack up 30+ points for a sixth consecutive game. Amari Cooper should also be much healthier following the bye week.
Buffalo vs San Francisco
Buffalo is a 7-point home favorite at Orchard Park, where they are a perfect 5-0 this year, and the over/under is set at 45.5 points. The Bills have the NFL’s third-highest scoring offense (29.1 points per game) while the Niners (23.6 PPG) rank 13th. Sean McDermott’s club has also been much better keeping points off the board, limiting opponents to 19.5 PPG (7th) vs 23.6 PPG (20th) for San Francisco.
Kyle Shanahan presides over the league’s 4th-best passing offense (246.2 YPG) and 7th-best rushing attack (138.4 YPG). But they’ve been among the worst teams in the NFL in converting TDs in the red zone.

Best Bet
This one is tough to handicap without knowing the playing statuses of Brock Purdy, Nick Bosa and Trent Williams. However, the Niners will be hard pressed to win the game without any one of the three.
We’ll take Josh Allen and the Bills to cover (-7) with the OVER 45.5 as Buffalo captures its seventh-straight victory and all but ends the 49ers’ playoff hopes.
