Goff vs Stafford part two
Jared Goff passed for 277 yards and a touchdown in January’s wild-card win over the Rams, helping end Detroit’s nine-game postseason losing streak. At the command of one of the NFL’s most-explosive attacks, the 29-year-old inked a $212M, 4-year extension in May. With the return of offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, the Lions are well positioned to make their first-ever Super Bowl appearance.
Matthew Stafford failed to win a playoff game in 12 seasons in Detroit before winning a ring with the Rams. The 36-year-old passed for 367 yards with two TDs in the 24-23 postseason loss to the Lions.

Latest injury news
Lions coach Dan Campbell said Monday that Jahmyr Gibbs has no injury concerns for Sunday night after the electric sophomore back strained his hamstring in practice a few weeks back.
Puka Nacua is also “ready to roll” for week 1, according to McVay, after practicing fully last week. The 2023 Offensive Rookie of the Year runner-up recorded nine receptions for 181 yards and a TD in last year’s wild-card defeat to the Lions.
Detroit vs Los Angeles
Detroit is a 3.5-point home favorite on Sunday night and the 51-point over/under is the highest total of week 1. With the retirement of Hall of Fame DT Aaron Donald and the exodus of defensive coordinator Raheem Morris, LA will be hard-pressed to shutdown an offense featuring Gibbs, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Sam La Porta, David Montgomery and Jameson Williams.
With a healthy Cooper Kupp and the eternal genius of McVay, the Rams will also have no problem racking up points inside Ford Field. Michigan faithful may even get to see former Wolverine Blake Corum in relief of Kyren Williams.
