- Patrick Mahomes (+100) is favored to win his fourth Super Bowl MVP award
- Saquon Barkley (+275) and Jalen Hurts (+360) are the only other players with odds shorter than +1000
- Super Bowl 59 kicks off at 6:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, Feb. 9, at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans
While Kansas City aims to become the first team to capture three consecutive Super Bowls, Patrick Mahomes looks to make history of his own as the first three-peat MVP winner in NFL history. If the Chiefs superstar picks up the award for the fourth time, he would surpass Joe Montana (3) and only trail Tom Brady (5) in Super Bowl MVP trophies.

Mahomes favored for 4th MVP
Patrick Mahomes (+100) has been named Super Bowl MVP in all three of Kansas City’s victories over the past five years. He led three touchdown drives in the final six minutes of Kansas City’s 31-20 comeback victory over the Niners in 2020. And he was even better in Super Bowl 57 against this same Eagles team, passing for 182 yards and three scores in a 38-35 win. Last year, the 29-year-old became just the third player to win back-to-back Super Bowl MVPs, throwing for 333 yards and 2 TDs in a 25-22 overtime triumph over San Francisco.
The next closest Chief on the board is Travis Kelce at +1400. The future Hall of Famer recorded his ninth 100-yard playoff game in KC’s divisional round win over Houston, passing Jerry Rice for the all-time record.

Saquon or Jalen?
Saquon Barkley (+275) has five touchdowns in his last two playoff games and leads the NFL with 442 rushing yards this postseason. However, the last running back to win Super Bowl MVP was Terrell Davis 28 years ago. Meanwhile, quarterbacks have claimed four of the past five MVPs and 7 of the past 10.
While he didn’t look like himself in the Eagles’ first two postseason wins, Jalen Hurts (+360) passed for 246 yards and a score in Sunday’s blowout victory over the Commanders with three rushing TDs. The dual-threat star was also sensational in Philadelphia’s 38-35 loss to the Chiefs in Super Bowl 57, passing for 304 yards and a TD with 70 yards and 3 scores on the ground.
Super Bowl MVP longshots
A.J. Brown (+2500) unleashed his “Inner Excellence” on Sunday with six receptions for 96 yards and a TD. While he only managed a combined three catches for 24 yards in his previous two games this postseason, he could easily find the endzone twice in the Super Bowl. The same logic could apply to DeVonta Smith (+4000) or even Dallas Goedert (+10000)
Jalen Carter (+5000) almost single-handedly won Philadelphia it’s divisional round game with the Rams, racking up five tackles, three quarterback hits, two sacks, a forced fumble and a pass break up. With an encore performance, he could set himself up for a MVP win.

Best Bet
If you think the Chiefs will three-peat, Patrick Mahomes (+100) is the only choice at even money. However, if you like the Eagles to prevail in the Big Easy, Jalen Hurts (+360) offers almost 4-to-1 odds and quarterbacks win Super Bowl MVP more often than not.
