Rodgers-Davante connection

Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams connected for 68 touchdowns in Green Bay between 2014 to 2021 – the most of any QB-WR duo during that time. The Jets hope the tandem can elevate their bottom-ten scoring offense and bring the franchise its first playoff appearance since 2010.

Miraculously recovered from the hamstring injury that kept him out of the lineup for the Raiders, Adams will suit up on Sunday night. Paired with third-year receiver Garrett Wilson and running back Breece Hall, he’ll give new offensive play-caller Todd Downing an abundance of riches.

Russell Wilson’s return

In a surprise move, Russell Wilson will make his season debut against the New York Jets. On the shelf with a calf injury up to this point, the 35-year-old will take over from Justin Fields, who led the Steelers to a 4-2 record in his absence.

Pittsburgh has the 20th-ranked scoring offense (20.7 points per game). They’re also averaging the fifth-fewest passing yards per week (166.8), so there is certainly room for improvement if Wilson can return to form.

Pittsburgh vs New York

New York is a -1.5-point road favorite in Week 7. Despite the matchup between two future Hall of Famers at quarterback, the over/under is set at just 38 points – the lowest game total on Sunday’s slate.

Pittsburgh’s defense is allowing the second-fewest points per game (14.3) while the Jets D (18.0) is also in the top ten. T.J. Watt forced two fumbles in the Steelers’ 32-13 victory over the Raiders in Week 6.

Jets vulnerable on the ground

While the Jets have the league’s second-best defense against the pass (148.8 yards allowed), they’re beatable on the ground. Rookie Ray Davis piled up 152 total yards in Buffalo’s 23-20 win over NY on Monday night. Najee Harris is also coming off his best performance of the year, rushing for 106 yards and a TD against Las Vegas.

Meanwhile, Pittsburgh is the No. 4 defense against the run (85.5 yards allowed).

Best Bet

After firing their head coach and acquiring Davante Adams, Aaron Rodgers and the Jets are officially out of excuses. The pressure is also on Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin after making the unpopular move to bench Fields for Wilson.

Either way, the media will be out for blood. We’ll take Pittsburgh +1.5 with the UNDER 38.
