- Houston (1-0) is a 6.5-point home favorite over the Chicago Bears (1-0) in Week 2
- Reigning Rookie of the Year C.J. Stroud hosts No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams
- Sunday Night Football kicks off from NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas at 8:20 pm ET
Caleb Williams became the first No. 1 overall pick to start and win in Week 1 in over 20 years despite completing only 14 of 29 passes for 93 yards and no touchdowns in Chicago’s 24-17 victory over Tennessee. The former Heisman Trophy winner will need a much better performance this Sunday night to knock off super sophomore C.J. Stroud and the Texans.

Stroud vs Caleb
C.J. Stroud passed for 234 yards and two touchdowns in a hard-fought 29-27 victory over the AFC South rival Colts. Nico Collins caught six balls for 117 yards and Stefon Diggs had two scores in his Texans debut. Newcomer Joe Mixon also added another element to Houston’s offense, rumbling for 159 yards and a TD.
Caleb Williams was unable to getting anything going in Week 1, generating only 11 first downs and 148 yards of total offense while taking three sacks. Luckily, the Bears found the endzone on defense and special teams to climb out of a 17-point hole and secure the win over the Titans.

Bears D brings the heat
The Texans allowed four sacks versus Indianapolis, and Stroud could be under duress again on Sunday night. Chicago generated pressure on almost half (47.4%) of Will Levis’ drop backs in Week 1.
On the other side of the ball, DeMeco Ryans’ defense permitted only nine completions against the Colts. However, two of them were 50+ yard touchdown bombs from Anthony Richardson. Caleb Williams went 0-for-7 on vertical shots in his debut and will likely be missing both Keenan Allen and rookie Rome Odunze from his receiving corps.
Houston vs Chicago
Houston is a 6.5-point home favorite in Week 2 and the over/under is set at 46-points. Stroud took the league by fire in 2023, passing for 4,108 yards and 23 TDs in 15 games. Meanwhile, Chicago’s D has been among the best in the NFL since acquiring defensive end Montez Sweat from the Commanders at last year’s deadline.
With both looking in midseason form in Week 1, Sunday Night Football provides a fascinating matchup between the reigning Rookie of the Year and the Bears defense.

Best Bet
Caleb Williams may have been a college football superstar, but he offered little to get excited about last Sunday. With injuries piling up at the receiver position, this week shouldn’t be any better. Take the Texans to cover the -6.5 points with the UNDER 46.
