Stefan Noesen scored a brace, but that wasn’t enough to overcome the Capitals. Washington finished the 2nd Period 4-2 up, but were pegged back to 4-4 in the 3rd. The Capitals retook control thanks to two goals in 10 seconds from Taylor Raddysh and Pierre-Luc Dubois.
That was too much for the Devils to overcome. Stefan Noesen pulled one back with his second, but Washington held on for a 6-5 win.
The defeat was their second loss in their last three matches, having also gone down 3-0 against the Blues on home ice last week. Sandwiched between the two defeats was a 5-4 road-trip victory over the Red Wings.
The Devils are +250 to win the Metropolitan Division. The Hurricanes are the betting favorites at +100.
In the betting to win the Eastern Conference, the Devils are the third favorites at +525, and they are sixth in the betting to win the 2025 Stanley Cup at +1200.
New York Rangers vs. New Jersey Devils Betting Picks and Predictions
The Rangers have been poor in recent weeks. The win over the Canadiens was much needed, but it has to be put into perspective, with Montreal sitting bottom of the Atlantic Division.
