Toronto Maple Leafs
In their last ten games, the Maple Leafs are 7-2-1. Across the ten-match run, Toronto has averaged 3.2 goals, 4.8 assists, and 3.8 penalties per game. They have also conceded an average of 2.1 goals per game.
Their most recent win came against the Edmonton Oilers, the +800 betting favorites to win the Stanley Cup. On a drama-filled night at the Scotiabank, Toronto had to come from behind to secure a 4-3 overtime win.
The victory backed up their 4-3 overtime win away at the Washington Capitals last week, another match that required the Maple Leafs to come from behind.
Toronto has won five of their last six. The only negative result was a shock 3-0 loss to the Ottawa Senators on home ice on Tuesday last week.
The Maple Leafs are the +150 second favorites to win the Atlantic Division. Along with the Panthers, the Maple Leafs are the +450 joint-second favorites to win the Eastern Conference.
Toronto is also +900 to land the 2025 Stanley Cup.
Vegas Golden Knights
The Golden Knights have a 6-3-1 record over their last ten matches.
During this run, they’ve averaged 3.7 goals, 6.4 assists, and 2.3 penalties. Vegas has also given up an average of three goals per game.
The Golden Knights’ most recent result was a 5-2 defeat to the Washington Capitals at the T-Mobile Arena on Sunday. A hat-trick from Alex Ovechkin for Washington was the main difference.
The defeat ended a two-match winning streak.
The Vegas Golden Knights have made a solid start to the 2024/25 season. But the bookmakers clearly don’t see Vegas lasting the distance.
The Golden Knights are the +180 favorites to win the Pacific Division, the Oilers are second at +200. In the betting to win the Eastern Conference, Vegas is the fifth favorite at +750, with the Oilers favored at +400.
And finally in the betting to win the Stanley Cup, Vegas is +1500. They are outside of the leading contenders who are all priced between +850 and +1000.
Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Vegas Golden Knights Betting Picks and Predictions
Vegas are 3-3-2 on the road. Their three away wins have come in their four most recent road trips.
A 4-2 win at the Oilers started the run. Vegas was then on the wrong end of an overtime seven-goal thriller against the Kraken. They have since won 3-2 away to the Ducks and 4-2 away to Utah.
A trip to the Scotiabank will be a very different challenge from the two most recent road trip wins achieved by the Golden Knights.
Furthermore, Toronto has been in good form, winning five of their last six. They are also 8-3-0 at home.
It’s hard to foresee a result like Toronto’s 3-0 loss to the Senators. We have to put that down as an anomaly and hope it doesn’t happen again when they face the Golden Knights.
Seven of Toronto’s eight home wins have been by two goals or greater. The only one that wasn’t was the 4-3 win over the Oilers, and Edmonton is the favorite to win the Stanley Cup.
We are going for Toronto to win. Take the small extra risk and back them to cover at the far better odds of +180.
