Roland-Garros repeat?
While Carlos Alcaraz (+125) says he prefers hard courts, the 21-year-old can’t be too upset about making a return visit to Roland-Garros this summer. With his first championship on clay, the Spaniard eclipsed his countryman Rafael Nadal as the youngest man to collect major titles on three surfaces.
Alcaraz came back from a two sets to one deficit against both Alexander Zverev (+450) in the final and Jannik Sinner (+250) in the semifinal. Amazingly, he became only the second French Open champion not named Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer or Novak Djokovic since 2005.

Will Djokovic compete?
No odds are listed for Novak Djokovic, who was forced to withdraw from the French Open with a torn meniscus. While it’s unknown how long the 24-time Grand Slam champion will be sidelined, the typical recovery time post meniscus surgery is between three and six weeks.
The winningest athlete in history in men’s singles won the bronze medal at Beijing 2008. He has three career titles at Roland Garros.
Nadal’s nails on clay
Rafael Nadal (+750) will skip Wimbledon to prepare for the Paris Olympics. Limited with hip and abdominal injuries over the past two years, the 38-year-old was ousted in the first round of the French Open by eventual runner-up Alexander Zverev.
However, with a record 14 titles at Roland Garros, the 22-time Grand Slam champion can’t be counted out. Nadal, who already has singles gold medal from Beijing 2008 and a doubles gold from Rio 2016, will partner with Alcarez in this year’s doubles event.

The next generation
Jannik Sinner (+250) won the Australian Open in January, his first Grand Slam title, before losing to Alcaraz in the semifinals in Roland Garros. The 22-year-old is the first ever Italian to become world’s No. 1 player.
Alexander Zverev (+450) has exited the French Open in the semifinals in each of the past three years. The lanky German has no Grand Slam titles, but is the defending Olympic champion after taking home the gold in Tokyo.
Best Bet
We like Carlos Alcaraz (+125) to win gold in men’s single tennis, but we’re not counting out Rafael Nadal (+750). The 38-year-old tennis legend will be fresh after skipping Wimbledon, and the best-of-three sets Olympic format should be easier on his body.
