BetMGM Sportsbook is a division of the widely known BetMGM, which on its own is a subsidiary of MGM Resorts International, a global entertainment company with an incredibly wide reach. Though the entertainment arm of the business has been around for decades, BetMGM sports betting first opened their doors in 2018, when the United States initially reconsidered their position on legal sports gambling.
During this time, BetMGM has established itself as one of the biggest players in legal online sports betting throughout North America. This growth pattern is projected to continue, as well. More than half of the USA already has legal sports betting, and plenty of other states are soon expected to follow suit. A wider pool of potential customers naturally drums up revenue projections, but BetMGM Sportsbook has taken the additional step of shoring up lucrative partnerships.
At this rate, even though they didn’t get their foot in the door with Daily Fantasy Sports, BetMGM is on track to rival the profit margins of Fanduel sportsbook and DraftKings sportsbook—two multi-billion dollar entities already—in the coming years.
States Where BetMGM Sportsbook Offers Retail Betting
Back in 2018, the U.S. federal government amended sports betting laws and gave each individual state the power to legalize sports betting if they so choose. Since then, more than half of the 50 states—in addition to Washington, D.C.—have given the green light. At a time when most sports betting takes place on mobile apps, BetMGM Sportsbooks is among those that continue to invest in their desktop design. From shortcuts like “Easy Parlay” to league logo icons helping you navigate from page to page, the user interface is extremely friendly.
BetMGM Sportsbook also features an omnipresent betslip on the right hand side of your screen. It is very unobtrusive, so it doesn’t hinder your page navigation, and it keeps track of your selected wagers and prospective payouts as you click around the site.
One potential downside: The live betting and prop markets are on the tepid side. You’ll be fine if you’re only interested in NFL live betting and NFL prop betting, but the options for other sports are sparse. This might be because BetMGM Sportsbook didn’t start out as a Daily Fantasy Sports site, though that’s more of a theory than a confirmed reality.
BetMGM Mobile Betting
Using the BetMGM Sportsbook mobile betting app is a pretty stress-free experience. The black and gold color scheme makes all the calls to action really stand out, and you’re able to bounce around from market to market with relative ease. The betslip on their mobile betting app is also super intuitive. It is, however, something of a pain to create your account from a mobile device. Visiting the desktop site is easier for first-time users.
BetMGM Customer Service
Similar to many other sports and competitions betting sites, BetMGM Sportsbook has you navigate a labyrinth of frequently asked questions rather than immediately directing you to a contact. However, you can find a customer service phone number, email and inquiry form if you scroll down far enough in the FAQ section. At this time, there is no live-chat option.
