The 2025 edition of the Australian Open got underway on January 11. Following his loss to Sinner at last year’s Australian Open, Djokovic, who was the No. 1 ranked player but lost to Sinner 6-1, 6-2, 6-7 (6), 6-3, said of the younger player, “He was always very calm, very composed in the court, but I think he struggled maybe to win the big matches in the big moments. But now it’s coming together for him.” That level of play continued for Sinner throughout the year, and he is the betting favorite at the 2025 Australian Open for that reason.

He followed that with a Wimbledon victory over Djokovic. Alcaraz bowed out in the quarter-final of the 2024 Australian Open, losing to Alexander Zverev 6-1, 6-3, 7-6, 6-4.
Alcaraz is in the same bracket as Djokovic, which makes for an interesting betting pick to come out of that half of the tournament.

Novak Djokovic did not win a Grand Slam in 2024, but he did capture Olympic gold in Paris. No player has more Australian Open titles than the 37-year-old with 10 tournament wins. The next highest win total at the Australian Open belongs to Federer with six. Djokovic’s last win in Melbourne came in 2023.
