New Sports Betting Panel Predicted Good News for California Soon

In terms of California sports betting news, we really don’t know who to believe. For a while, plenty of experts and analysts have stated that the state is still a few years away from getting things over the line. All of the recent attempts have proven to be huge failures, which has only added to the anger of countless people. Could things change, though? Thankfully, a new sports betting panel predicted good news for California soon.

Earlier this month, the Next.io forum was held in New York City, where sports betting, online casino gaming and more were discussed by a variety of experts. According to a report, the general feedback was that while some states, including Texas and South Carolina, could be far away from getting the project approved, California is in a good spot. That’s because it appears like the local government and the local tribes are trying to get on the same page.

Not only that, but because of the size of the state, it’s only a matter of time before things get done because of the growing popularity of all the sports teams. One issue with potential sports betting, though, is that officials still remain divided on how betting on the college game would go. Some people want to be able to take a look at the NCAAF betting and NCAAB betting odds, but some politicians don’t want to see that happen.

That’s a debate that will surely remain discussed for a while, but the fact of the matter is that the first order of business is to get betting approved as a whole. There’s a ton of money at stake, as the sports betting revenue for California would surely be among the highest in the country. We’ve seen some additional states approve legal betting over the past year, but California hasn’t been able to do so. Following this new forum in NYC, there’s now hope that maybe 2025 will be the year when things get done.

California citizens are furious over North Carolina’s legalization

If you’ve taken a look at social media this week, there’s no question you’ve seen that California citizens are furious over North Carolina’s legalization. Why would people care? The fact of the matter is that California is a much bigger state and they’ve been trying to get things done for years. Meanwhile, North Carolina is much smaller in size, but their officials saw the importance of sports betting and decided there was no reason to wait any further.

The timing of North Carolina’s launch isn’t a coincidence either, as they wanted to make sure things got done in time for March Madness betting starting later this month. People in California are going to find a way to place bets on the NCAA Tournament, but every single one will be an illegal one. This has been a growing concern for authorities in The Golden State, but illegal bookies keep working overtime to stay in business.

California is loaded with a bunch of talent for both the men’s and women’s teams. That’s why college basketball is always a ton of fun for people to watch, but they’re of course waiting for the day when they can simply whip out their phones and place bets through mobile options. This has been needed in California, but again, nothing has been able to progress. That’s no longer the case for North Carolina, as people have been racing to get bets in this week.

Along with the Super Bowl, March Madness is one of the biggest sports betting events of the year. Billions of dollars will be transferred worldwide, but California is missing out on tax revenue opportunities. The hope is that by this point next year, folks will no longer have to sit on the sidelines in terms of legal sports betting. It will be interesting to see if a miracle arrives and people in California can bet on March Madness 2025, but it’s totally up in the air.

California is going to miss out on a ton of Dodgers betting

It goes without saying, but with Opening Day around the corner, California is going to miss out on a ton of Dodgers betting. Los Angeles holds the top World Series betting odds, which is no surprise. This offseason, the Dodgers made a huge splash by signing Shohei Ohtani to his massive $700 million contract. The Dodgers were already a powerhouse, but the addition of Ohtani has only made them better. Hard to believe that their offense could improve, right? That’s what’s happened.

Ohtani is one of the best players in the bigs and he isn’t moving far after previously playing for the Angels. From start to finish this season, there are going to be a ton of eyes on the Dodgers, as they surely have what it takes to win another title. Only time will tell how the campaign will go for them, but the negative for the state is that people won’t be placing legal bets on them. We can only hope that will change by next spring.
