It’s been a month to remember for Florida sports betting news and even more positive updates are on the way. With things recently getting re-launched, the sports betting figures have been strong for people to enjoy. While the mobile betting options have been limited, that doesn’t mean that things have been slow. And this week, things are going to reach a new level. That’s because Florida officials know massive Super Bowl bets are on the way.
According to a report, both politicians and officials are thrilled with the fact that legal Super Bowl betting will be allowed for the first time in the state’s history. This was something that people were hoping for last year and especially in 2021. A little over two years ago, legal betting was on the table for a brief period during the fall. During that time, football fans were checking the NFL betting odds and getting Super Bowl wagers in.
As we all know by now, things were shut down by a U.S. District Judge not long after things took off. After a lengthy case, everyone welcomed back legal sports betting recently with open arms and NFL betting has of course been quite popular. The same can be said for NCAAF betting and NBA betting, but things for the NFL will be through the roof over the next few days thanks to the Super Bowl.
It has been estimated that around 68 million Americans will be putting money down on the Super Bowl. This should come as no surprise, as it’s easily one of the biggest betting events of the year. While there are no teams from Florida in this year’s edition of the game, that doesn’t mean people in the Sunshine State aren’t going to be fired up to not only watch the game, but put money down on things too. It should be an electric showdown on Sunday, no doubt.

Plenty of early Florida bets are going on the Chiefs
According to a report, plenty of early Florida bets are going on the Chiefs. This isn’t a huge surprise, as the 49ers are not a popular team in the state. There aren’t many ties between Florida and Kansas City, but the fact of the matter is that Patrick Mahomes is a much bigger name compared to some of the stars of the 49ers, especially quarterback Brock Purdy. Mahomes is miles ahead of him.
The 49ers are the favorites to win the Super Bowl this year, but you have to keep in mind that Kansas City has posted some impressive upsets thus far this postseason. In the Divisional Round, the Chiefs traveled to Buffalo and were able to take down Josh Allen and the Bills. They followed that up by stunning Lamar Jackson and the Ravens in the AFC Championship Game. Mahomes has played a massive role in how things have gone down thus far.
Patrick Mahomes was asked if winning too much was causing him to become a villain:

“You don’t take it (getting to the Super Bowl) for granted,” Mahomes said after taking down the Ravens last weekend. “You never know how many you’re going to get to, or if you’re going to get to any. It truly is special just to do it with these guys after what we’ve been through all season long – guys coming together, it really is special. But I told them the job’s not done. Our job now is to prepare ourselves to play a good football team in the Super Bowl and try to get that ring.”
While the best-rated sportsbooks may think that Purdy is going to lead SF to a Super Bowl title, Mahomes is looking to capture his third Lombardi Trophy. The NFL MVP knows what it takes to get the job done and he doesn’t care one bit that he’s an underdog for this one. People in Florida have full belief in Mahomes and the rest of the Kansas City offense. It will be interesting to see if he can silence his haters in this one.
Florida betting as a whole has been strong since the re-launch
Taking a look at things, Florida betting as a whole has been strong since the re-launch arrived not long ago. Both Governor Ron DeSantis and The Seminole Tribe had been pushing hard to make fans happy with legal betting and that’s exactly what has been able to get done. The great news here is that betting returned in time for the NFL postseason. Over the past month or so, we’ve seen tremendous returns for the betting project. Things are only going to get better with the MLB season almost here too.
People all over Florida love baseball and there are high expectations this upcoming season for the Rays and Marlins. The Miami Heat are also making a splash in the Eastern Conference, which has been great to see. All in all, exciting progress has been made for sports betting and even more good news should be on the way in the coming months. These are exciting times for Florida sports fans, no question about that.
