A Chicago Cover Served Up This Wednesday

  • WHAT: WNBA Wednesday Night – Connecticut Sun vs. Chicago Sky
  • WHEN: Wednesday, June 12th, 2024 at 8:05 pm ET
  • WHERE: Wintrust Arena from Chicago, Illinois

The WNBA Betting Sites for 2024 head into a midweek game between two teams going in opposite directions in the WNBA standings. Fans know this is the only game in town on Wednesday night. Unfortunately, this game is not on regular television but may be able to be streamed on ESPN+. Sun vs Sky Bets attempt to try and look at a few more bets here.

Naturally, the top online betting sportsbooks show this contest to be far from even and yes Connecticut is now a 6.5 to 7 point favorite depending on the sportsbook. There is some surprise that the number is this high given what happened in matchup number one. Anyhow, here is that handy table below.

Sun vs Sky Bets – Looking At A Few Angles

So, the Sun vs Sky Bets looking at a few angles. WNBA betting takes into account what occurred in the first clash between these two teams. That was also in Chicago as Connecticut escaped with a narrow 86-82 road win. Now, the Sun allowed 50 first half points before clamping down on defense in the final 20 minutes. They held the Sky to a mere 32 points and used a strong third quarter to forge a lead they would not give up.

However, what happens if Angel Reese and company are motivated again? Chicago has been an up and down team with mostly down results. The Wednesday contest figures to be physical as most WNBA basketball is this season. Let’s face it. It feels like the whole league has a chip on its shoulder. Now, that creates some entertaining basketball for better or for worse. Chicago’s two home wins have been against Washington and Los Angeles. The Sky lost by nine at home over the weekend versus the Atlanta Dream.

The problem is what to make of Chicago. Connecticut features an amazing, balanced team who could challenge for the league’s best record. Their only loss was Saturday against the New York Liberty. Connecticut bounced back and lambasted Indiana by 17 the next time out. Connecticut is 5-6 against the spread. With the moneyline approaching -350, that option is out. However, we have two choices.

Chicago +7 points (-110) remains a solid wager. With the Sky knowing they need to win a few games at home, the Sun may be walking into a much closer battle than they expect. We considered the Sky for the outright win at +285. One might toss a few dollars on that this Wednesday night.

Sun vs Sky Bets – Over Or Under?

Alright, the Sun vs Sky bets wonder about the over or under on Wednesday. With the schedule as it is, there are no other games to consider. This is it as Kenny Loggins once said. Chicago can be inconsistent as has only won twice at home all season (4-6 overall). Connecticut has not lost on the road all season so far. Like we mentioned above, something feels like it has to give. Pace of play seems to favor more offense and no significant players are out.

Now, despite this, the Over/Under currently sits at 152.5. Chicago usually scores and allows close to 80 points a game. This is all while the Sun average 80.2 points per contest. Three of the past four Sky home games have gone over 152.5 points. It is an angle to at least look at.

The same can be said for the team overs too. Connecticut is only at 79.5 here. Simply, all the Sun have to do is break 80 points to win that bet. Currently, Chicago rests at 72.5. It is not a bad number at -120. However, this is not the best. One can move up on both. The Sun, at 80.5 are now -105. Honestly, one must admit that seems better. Connecticut’s defense tops the league and their net rating of +12.9 does as well.

Again, live betting the Over could prove contrarian. Furthermore, that 152.5 number feels too low now. Chicago needs to push the pace in order to beat Connecticut. It is the only way they know how to play against the top teams. It is how they beat the Liberty earlier in the season. Run with the Over.

Is There Anything Else To Bet?

So, Sun vs Sky bets ask is there anything else to bet? 2024 has been a fun one at My Top Sportsbooks. The last few wagers paid off as Indiana took care of Washington last Friday and then Connecticut’s team over easily sailed past the number versus the Fever. Sometimes those bad beats will happen. Our goal is to keep learning and go from there.

With the NBA Finals heading to Dallas for Wednesday night, basketball wagering is a little low on volume here. Therefore, playing things small is probably best. No one wants to go all in on a night where there is little movement and even less value on picks. The only tempting pick is trying Chicago outright to win at +285. It almost appears crazy enough to work. Marina Mabrey will be worth a nice second look when it comes to her player prop when it appears close to game time.

Again, playing out that Connecticut Over even at 81.5 points pays out at +115. Yes, Chicago gave up 89 points to Atlanta in their previous game and Connecticut scored exactly 89 versus Indiana on Monday night.

Do not forget to keep an eye out for some more props coming closer to gametime.

WNBA Wednesday Should Be Fun

BetUS Sportbook Review site seem to guarantee that WNBA Wednesday should be fun. Then, the rest of the week mostly features two and three game slates including both Saturday games being on network TV (CBS and ABC). That includes the New York versus Las Vegas battle. Good luck!
